Another Busy Day :)

Yesterday, I forgot to mention that we started reading the Felicity books from American Girls. We're going to do various crafts and make foods from the Felicity Cook Book and Craft Book. Yesterday, we read chapter one and made apple butter. Fortunately, I had some applesauce with cinnamon in it, so we just opened that and put it in a pot with some honey and allspice and let it simmer for a few hours, until it thickened and darkened.

I let it cool for a bit, then put it in the fridge. Today we read chapter two and made cornbread to go with our apple butter. Yummy :)

We did two more lessons of Answers for Preschoolers. We reviewed the numbers 1-3 and letters Aa-Dd, learned about God making light on Day One, my daughter drew a picture of a candle with lightwaves (since we talked about lightwaves *smiles*), and reviewed the circle. We also did Bible Numbers, number 3, and talked about the three gifts the Magi brought to Jesus. Gold, Frankincense and myrrh - gifts fit for a King :). The three is divided into three sections - section one gets glittered (for the gold), section two gets perfumed (for the frankincense) and section three gets "spiced" (for the myrrh). I have some frankincense, so guess what we used on section two?

We reviewed our memory verse several times today - Genesis 1:3-"And God said, 'Let there be light', and there was light". There was quite a bit of cutting in today's two lessons - which is good, since my daughter loves to cut and thinks she's better at it than she is *grins*.

We got a science kit with 70 different experiments to do, today we just did two - color solution and color mixing. My daughter was super excited, she LOVES science *smiles*

We also got a teeny bit of cleaning done...we sweeped and swiffered the kitchen, I ruthlessly went through the living room and got rid of stuff that's just been sitting there...so nice to be getting somewhere in the constant cleaning battle.
