Millions of Peaches

We planned a beautiful peach picking trip, but we woke up to thunder, lightening and torrential rain. But it stopped by seven AM, so I thought we'd be OK. My daughter was so super excited. As we were watching cartoons - Jetson's, the same episode, like, seven times in a row - we talked about seeds and how each plant bears seeds that grow plants after their kind. As we were talking, I looked out the window and it was raining. More like pouring, actually. Dad was running late, then with the rain, decided to go fishing. A little before noon, after it had stopped raining for a while, dad called and asked if we still wanted to go peach picking. Of course, we said YES! So away we went.

When we got there, it wasn't very well marked, so figuring out where to go was a journey in itself. After we figured it out, we hopped on the tractor and headed out to the orchards. My daughter had a blast riding on the wagon next to her daddy up on the top-ish tier. Once at the orchards, it didn't take long to fill up the boxes, the trees were loaded down, almost literally millions of peaches *smiles*.

After picking peaches, we headed into the store and looked around. Then we all decided we were hungry, so (yes, we broke our diet) we headed over to the restaurant. Now, before you all look at me askance for breaking the diet, let me explain my reasons. We're going to be moving to Cleveland and won't have opportunities like this to hang out with PawPaw all the time, so I figure, take advantage of it and make as many memories as possible while we can. And also, the food was delish :)

We had a wonderful day and now have many new adventures ahead of us in the canning and freezing departments! I'll keep you all posted :)
